The only cost the recipient of the texts will incur will be based on their carrier's plan. There is no charge at all collected by MFC Ministries (or any of its other ministries) to receive our messages. However, standard messaging & data rates charged by your carrier will apply. If your service contract includes a limited number of inbound or outbound texts per billing cycle, your may incur charges on your bill if texts sent by our service exceed your plan.
Different categories of our list can expect a different quantity of messages per month.
Our broadest group, the general mailing list (keywords MFC or MFC.update) may only receive very infrequent messages sharing the most pertinent information (time change, cancellations, changes of venue, etc.)
For the groups primarily based on building disciples (Women of Witness, Men of Honor, Apostle Joe's Encouraging Words, etc.), you may expect as many as 3 or 4 texts per week (possibly 20 or more per month).
For service groups & departments within our ministry (Children's Department volunteer teachers & helpers, ushers, greeters, etc) you can expect 2 or 3 messages a week. For example, the Head Usher may chose to use this service to help communicate a change in the lawn care schedule or a special need for more parking lot attendants for a certain event. Tthe Section Leader of the Nursery Section of Children's Department may use this service to remind the volunteers of their scheduled time to serve on the coming Sunday.
Of course, if you subscribe to our service and elect to receive messages from many different categories of our list, you will receive more messages.
We will be considerate of your time and attention. The reason text messages are so effective is because they are succinct and very targeted when used. Our pledge is to limit the number of messages to only the important messages.
Signing up to this service is called "Opting-In". Industry practice requires that because the recipient may incur a charge from their phone's service provider, we must be very structured in the methods we use to collect your information. You will only receive text messages from us if you opt-in by one of these two methods:
Texting from your mobile device the keyword of the category in which you're interested. For example, for Men of Honor you would text MFC.men to 292929 or for Women of Witness MFC.women to 292929. For our general list, text MFC to 292929. Once you have done this, you will receive a confirmation message acknowledging that you have joined and giving you instructions on how to stop receiving messages.
Sign-up online. From our web site, there is a short form you can complete that will allow you check multiple sub-categories of our list to join. Each will send you a separate confirmation message and you be required to confirm by replying to each. This double confirmation effort ensures that the recipient is truly the person requesting addition to the list. For example, you would visit our page, click on the SUBSCRIBE tab and check mark the boxes next to the ministries or areas that interest you. You may want information on Men of Honor (MFC.men), Men of Honor's Man of the House Conference (MFC.moth) and Apostle Joe's Encouraging Words (MFC.encouragment). Your would check mark those three boxes, enter your 10-digit telephone number (without dashes or spaces), and your first and last name. Then click "submit." Your would see a confirmation message there on your computer screen and in just seconds, receive opt in messages from the three lists. You would be asked to reply with special instructions for each keyword . Only after you have completed this final step will your information be recorded on our list to receive text messages.
Yes. MFC Ministries, Inc. and its affiliate ministries subscribe to a provider that hosts this service and their terms assure us that our subscriber's information is absolutely secure. We highly guard your inforamtion and pledge to you that we shall never sell, rent, loan, give or in any other form transmit your priviate information to any other organization for any purpose. Information provided to MFC Ministries, Inc. will remain the property of and will be used exclusively by MFC Ministries, Inc. and its partner organizations Restoration Christian College & School of Ministry and Savlation House Ministries. In addition to the text messages we are sending, the service to which we subscribe will allow us tos end short voice calls to members of our list. You may receive short voice calls of pre-recorded announcements at the discretion of our senior leadership. Voice calls require no opt-in proecedure. By supplying your information to our ministry/ies, you have granted us permission to call you.
